Looking for talented musicians who have ability or interest in Middle Eastern music to play regularly for Middle Eastern style dancers. Do you love to improvise? Are you good at learning new music by ear? Can you play or would you like to be able to play one of the following instruments?
kanun, oud, ney, violin, clarinet, accordion, saz, baglama, buzuq, cümbüş, kawala, Arabic tabla (darbuka, dumbek, goblet drum), tabl baladi, riq (tambourine), rebaba (kemengeh), mizmar, mizwij, zurna, bendir (duff, tar), sagat (zills, sil sil, finger cymbals), mihbaj (coffee grinder), guitar, saxophone, bass
Can you sing in Arabic or Turkish? Do you love Middle Eastern music? Then I'm looking for you.
Both traditional and more contemporary approaches to Middle Eastern music welcome. Some sheet music is available. I'm looking to build a small, talented, dedicated ensemble with melodic and rhythm instruments, for a potential regular paid engagement as well as for intermittent paid engagements.
