I've always enjoyed O'Nan--he's is an exacting writer who chases down all the right details. This was too modest of a book to sweep any year-end best awards. It basically recounts the last night of service at a Red Lobster, through the eyes of its mild-mannered and somewhat perplexed-by-life manager.
